Bill Hartsfield
President / CEO
Bill began his career with BlueCross and BlueShield of Texas in 1975 upon graduation from Texas Tech University. After 5 years as a Sales Associate, he was promoted to District Manager with responsibility for all clients in a 16 county area. Key accounts included Texas Tech University, Lubbock ISD, Methodist Hospital, St. Mary Hospital, and Lubbock National Bank..
In 1981 Bill was offered the opportunity to manage the Dallas Sales office of BlueCross but chose instead to remain in Lubbock and join the largest independent agency in the region, Insurance Associates. He purchased the agency outright in 1994.
In 2004 Insurance Associates was invited to join United Benefit Advisors, UBA, an alliance of 140 of the premier independent benefits consulting firms in the nation. This alliance allows Insurance Associates to provide state-of-the-art technology, compliance, and communication tools, while maintaining valuable business relation- ships at a local level.
Bill has served on numerous advisory councils including BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, Hartford, Unum, Aetna, and Lincoln Financial. He served four years on the board of Lubbock Area United Way and is currently serving on the board of March of Dimes.
